IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama - April 7
Following two thrilling races to kick off the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season at St. Petersburg and the Circuit of The Americas, attention turns to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend for the Grand Prix of Alabama.
IndyCar will roll into Barber still reeling from Colton Herta’s shock victory at COTA two weeks ago that saw him become the youngest winner in the series’ long history at 18.
Penske’s Josef Newgarden will want to continue his impressive record at Barber - he has won at the track three of the past four years - and build on his early championship lead, but will face plenty of tough opposition from the likes of Herta, Will Power, Alexander Rossi, Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist.
April also brings the first back-to-back of the IndyCar season, with the Grand Prix of Long Beach taking place on April 14.
Between the two races, Fernando Alonso will complete his first IndyCar oval test of the year with McLaren at Texas Motor Speedway on April 9 ahead of his return to the Indianapolis 500 next month.
