Carlin’s Jehan Daruvala dominates second F2 sprint race at Monza
Daruvala powered past David Beckmann at the start into Turn 1 and into the lead of the race.
The Indian driver controlled the race from the front to win in Italy by over six seconds.
The battle for the podium was hot throughout as Bent Viscaal battled with Beckmann.
Viscaal forced Beckmann into a mistake at Turn 1, forcing him to take to the run-off area and losing the position in the process.
With Beckmann struggling for pace, this allowed Robert Shwartzman to overtake him on the penultimate lap into the Ascari chicane.
Shwartzman was sixth after the first lap but showed outstanding race pace to cut his way through the field, overtaking Juri Vips around the outside of Turn 3.
The Russian joined Daruvala and Viscaal on the podium to get his title challenge back on track.
Behind Shwartzman was Liam Lawson in fourth, while Beckmann came home fifth.
Vips finished sixth ahead of points leader Oscar Piastri, while Guanyu Zhou rounded out the top eight.
Ralph Boschung finished ninth with Theo Pourchaire completing the top ten having been unable to repeat his heroics from this morning.
