Alex Albon F1 career (2019 - Present)

Albon only got behind the wheel of F1 machinery for the first time ever when pre-season testing began in February 2019, before making his debut at the season-opener in Melbourne.

Albon's trajectory may have taken a surprising jolt upward upon his ascension into an F1 seat, but it would just be a taste of things to come. A string of impressive displays for Toro Rosso through the first half of the season - including a run from the pit lane to points in China - resulted in Albon being handed an opportunity to step up to Red Bull for the final nine races of 2019, replacing the struggling Pierre Gasly. Albon took full advantage of the opportunity, finishing outside the top six just twice in that period - with the one non-score coming after being hit by Lewis Hamilton when on-course for a podium finish in Brazil.

Albon's displays did enough to clinch him the second seat with Red Bull on a full-time basis for 2020 alongside Max Verstappen, giving the Anglo-Thai racer a bright future to look forward to.

After a disappointing 2020 campaign, Albon was dropped in favour of Sergio Perez and thus had to sit the season on the sidelines.

Albon returned and performed well with Williams, finishing in the points on a few occasions.

His dismantling of teammate Nicholas Latifi was in similar fashion to George Russell.

Albon's stock rose even higher in 2023 as he single-handedly led Williams to seventh place in the constructors' championship.

The Anglo-Thai scored 27 of Williams' 28 points throughout 2023 as he overwhelmed rookie teammate Logan Sargeant, who proved no match for Albon.

Albon's heroic drives saw him finish inside the points on seven occasions, with a best result of seventh place coming in Canada and Italy.
